Old Town & Coronado (San Diego) Visit in Pictures

As promised in the preceeding blogs, here's posting some of our pictures during our Nov. 4 tour to Old Town and Coronado, San Diego county. Hope you enjoy and have fun !

Dang's Birthday Bash @ Old Town, San Diego, the Birthplace of California

This is where we spend November 4, birthday of our daughter Danna, who is the main subject of this California visit. The ambience of this tourists’ area is Mexican being its early settlers. Old buildings and infrastructures, peoples and music, are of Mexican influence. Old Town is full of souvenir shops and museums. It is where San Diego port is, with boating, water skiing and similar activities abound. Sea foods are commonly served in the eateries around San Diego Bay, where host Ron Graham treated us to a sumptuous lunch at a floating resto overlooking the bay, where seals and pelican were playing around, perhaps, catching fishes for their food?

After lunch, we proceeded to Coronado peninsula, crossing the long and towering Bay bridge connecting San Diego and Corona cities. Like Old Town, Coronado is also a famous tourists’ destination for its historic value accentuated by man-made modern landscape and similar amenities. Tour buses driven by skilled tourist guide-driver on board made one’s tour easier and more interesting.

A Day in the Land of Make-Belief : Brief Travelogue

Like this sexy photograph of ours (lol), we spent a day-long tour of the famous Universal Studio in Anaheim, CA as sponsored by daughter Danna and the Grahams (Dory and Ron), family friends from Oceanside.

We tour around this huge park, complete with amenities for guests; watched 3D kiddie shows, the daring actors and actress of Waterworld live show, experienced the thrills of Horror House, and the breath-taking Mummy Ride and Jurassic River Ride.

We also go around the Studios where some famous movies were taken showing how seemingly impossible scenes were shot such as the tsunami, the great flood, devastating earthquakes, exploding and burning cars and collapsing bridges, which are all but a make-belief. Really amazing human concepts of film-making. This park is indeed the entertainment center of Los Angeles county.

A Day-Long LA Walk

With Bro. Jerico still as our tour guide, we spent a day-long LA walk to Griffith Observatory on top of the mountain overlooking LA downtown and the Hollywood. We were unable to get inside Observatory as it was close on a Monday.

We then proceed to Beverly Hills a home to the rich and famous of LA and had some window shopping on Rodeo Drive. We took our late lunch in a Filipino resto called Bahay-Kubo enjoying with all those local cuisine.

We call it a day at the Fairfield Inn Marriott where Brod Jerico and the Grahams, our next hosts, met. Tomorrow, we will go to the Universal Studio for another day-long tour. (JSF Blogs)

Dr. Josh Falla and Family @ Las Vegas : A Trick or Treat ?

Halloween 2009, Las Vegas, Nevada - This blogger together with wife Rose and daughter Danna were treated by family friends Bro. Jerico and his wife Joann, as well as by daughter Danna's friend Pitoy, to the fabulous (s0me call it Sin) city of Las Vegas, the world's casino and entertainment capital.

Is it a trick or a treat? Well, your guess is as good as mine.

This is our first time to witness personally the luxury of human entertainment from the attractive landscapes, commercial establishments, gambling of all sort, lavish food and drinks, various personal services, open prostitution, all forms of shows, and what have you.

Posted herewith are some pictures taken during this Las Vegas escapade. More pictures will be posted sooner or later.

Our hosts and sponsors drive us from the Riverside to Las Vegas and back, crossing over 300 miles or 4-hour drive, traversing the so-called California desert and San Bernardino.
